Illite

Locality: Auburn, Nemaha Co., Nebraska, USA

Interesting pseudomorph: a thin plate of matrix is scattered with numerous hoppered cubic halite crystals to 9 mm on edge, these replaced by clay. Per previous labels and other entries, this has been ID'ed as illite.

10.2 x 7.0 x 0.7 cm

Don Windeler collection, acquired in 2007 from Dan Weinrich. Previously in the Scott Williams collection, with label noting it was collected in 1975.
