Dimensions: 6.1 cm x 2.1 cm x 2 cm

Crystal section of green elbaite replaced in its core by fine-grained pink lepidolite. The outer layer of elbaite is 2mm thick, clear and hard, suggesting the pseudomorphic replacement in the center may be composition-driven. There are smaller sidecar crystals at the base, each similarly replaced.

6.1 x 2.1 x 2.0cm

Locality is actually given as the Jacare Mine, Itinga, Minas Gerais, Brazil, which is listed in MinRec v30, p40 according to the index; I have not been able to look this article up or find enough other data to create a new loc entry.

Don Windeler collection, acquired late 1999 / 2000 from the Fraziers.
