What a great color contrast! This huge, deep yellow sulfur crystal , which measures 4.5 x 6 cm, sits on a matrix of color zoned aragonite crystals, one of which is doubly terminated and 2.5 cm in length. Overall, the visual impact of that front-and-center crystal is pretty amazing. Although the sulfur has a matte luster, the aragonites sparkle with great luster especially on their basal faces. Aragonite like this, unaltered to calcite as are so many from here, is rare and this is from a famous find in the early 1970s. However, few were found in association with sulfur crystals. Lastly, the aragonite is highly fluorescent. 11.5 x 10.5 x 4.5 cm
