An uncommon mineral for a pegmatite, this was verified to be kyanite by Cannon Microprobe. A previous XRD gave erroneousness metals, which must have been in the matrix. There is reference to an unidentified purpleish blue mineral containing iron and phosphate, so either there are 2 bluish minerals, or it was mis-identified back in the 1960's.
Dimensions of this fractured partial crystal are 1 mm x .25 mm.
