An old and very uncommon pseudomorph specimen from Zacatecas, featuring (from the index card of noted Tsumeb and Brazilian collector Ed Ruggiero who purchased it 30 years ago): "a mass of pyrrhotite plates completely altered to pyrite, and then an overgrowth of pyrite crystals and calcite crystals deposited. Very attractive as well as unusual." This description seems quite accurate. On close examination, you can see the platy former-pyrrhotite now replaced by pyrite, with small bright cubes of pyrite having come later. 7 x 6.9 x 5.3 cm
