Albite, Albite (Var: Cleavelandite)

Locality: Fillow Quarry (Branchville Quarry; Branchville Mica Mine; Smith Mine), Branchville, Town of Ridgefield, Fairfield Co., Connecticut, USA

Unusual association of lavender fluorescing albite overgrowth on pale blue fluorescing microcline (partly etched) on cleavelandite crystals (reddish-magenta fluorescence), shown under SW UV illumination. Specimen is 5 x 7.5 cm. Collected by J. Kirk, Jr. circa 1985.
