Close-up of one of the basalt pillows. The glassy, quenched rind of the pillows is quite evident. The interpillow matrix is composed of hyaloclastite cemented by calcite. The pillow is probably around 0.5 - 0.75 m wide. Photo taken November 15, 2009.
