Vesuvianite, Grossular


Vesuvianite : Ca10(Mg,Fe)2Al4Si9O34(OH)4, Grossular : Ca3Al2[SiO4]3

Lustrous brownish-green terminated crystals of vesuvianite to 20 mm long with partial 3 mm red grossular garnet. One crystal shows fracturing in place during metamorphization. Back is sawn flat. Personally collected. Overall size of mineral specimen: 5x3x1 cm. Size of individual crystals: 5020 mm.
