Goethite, Calcite

Locality: East Haven, New Haven Co., Connecticut, USA

Epitaxial goethite on calcite, FOV 7.05 mm. The goethite is partly included in the calcite, partly on the surface. Note the radial structure within the goethite. Former Alfred Patrie collection, labeled as from "Mullen Hill", but could find no such place in East Haven. Likely from the Cinque Quarry.
