Locality: Limecrest Quarry, Sparta Township, Sussex Co., New Jersey, USA

Purplish-gray spinel crystals to 9 mm in white calcite (Franklin marble) matrix with minor metallic pyrrhotite. The spinel crystals are well exposed. The specimen has NOT been etched in acid. Personally collected in 1996. Overall size of mineral specimen: 7x5x4 cm. Size of individual crystals: 2-9 mm.
