Amphibole in the anthophyllite-gedrite series. The crystal is 3cm tall, but has broken end terminations. Crystals like this more than 10cm long could be found with plagioclase,quartz, Mg-rich mica and apatite? in a gneiss belonging to the same horizon as the cordierite bearing gneiss.
