Calcite

Locality: Ma'ale Adumim (Ma'aleh Adumim), Hatrurim formation, West Bank, Palestine

Another Calcite from the odd Hatrurim formation in Israel. The calcite has a slight green tinge to it. Found in a limestone matrix next to a mottled zone on the formation. This is taken east of Maaleh Adumim right off the highway 1, heading from Jerusalem to the Dead Sea.

Dimensions: 7.5 x 6 x 5 cm.
