A 8.2x6.3x4.7 cm doubly terminated Zircon crystal from the Cherry Muntain Deposit, Chelyabinsk, Russia. The crystal has some damage around both terminations, but is highly lustrous and displays with impressive visual impact despite this. You will notice the brown haloes in the crystal. These are places where a uranium-rich species (don't know which one) have been included in the crystal and have caused radiation damage to the Zircon. An incredibly big and good example of Zircon from a rarely seen locality. Ex Bob Nowakowski collection, previously in the collection of Gerald Herfurth.
