Locality: Richmond Mine (Old Richmond), Palmer, Marquette iron range, Marquette Co., Michigan, USA

Old specimen of lustrous goethite, called by the minerals Needle Ore because of the radiating sprays of fine black goethite crystals. Good, old time classic. Overall size of mineral specimen: 6x4x4 cm. Size of individual crystals: 1-3 cm.
