A 2,5 mm greyish white, irregular, crystalline grain of dalyite with minor, brown janhaugite. Dalyite has only been found in a small area within the area where janhaugite is found. If you have a specimen labelled as dalyite from Gjerdingen and see no janhaugite, there are probably no dalyite present. Dalyite has never been found in crystals at Gjerdingen, only as tiny grains. The specimen was a gift from the specialist of the Gjerdingen locality and the minerals found there, Mr Jan Haug, and it is now in the micromount collection of OT. Ljostad.
