Sharp, lustrous to partially coated, martite pseudomorphs after magnetite crystals to 2.2 cm richly cover the matrix of this RARE, CLASSIC, OLD-TIMER from the Black Rock Mine in Beaver Co., Utah. Martite is the black, iron-rich variety of sphalerite. The CLOTH label glued to the back of this piece indicates that it is old. The minor damage is certainly not detracting for such a fine and rare old piece. Ex Richard Hauck Collection. 6.8 x 6.0 x 5.0 cm
