Locality: Garnet Ledge, Wrangell, Wrangell Island, Wrangell-Petersburg Borough, Alaska, USA

This is an old specimen from the classic locality in Alaska for almandine garnets and is one of the few top-quality crystals that I have seen. A large wine-red almandine garnet in silvery schist matrix. Bottom sawn flat. No external damage. Overall size of mineral specimen: 5x5x3 cm. Size of individual crystals: 25 mm.
