Locality: Laghman Province (Lagman Province; Nuristan), Afghanistan

A crystal of rich violet apatite to 2cm length. The crystal has formed as a "jacket" an earlier formation, and is prevented from being fully hexagonal by contact - no damage - along its underside. The crystals fluoresce yellowish orange under SW UV light.
