Bismuthinite


Bismuthinite : Bi2S3

A piece of quartz and sulphide veinstone has openings lined with mishapen quartz crystals and chalcopyrite. Making up approximately half the display surface is a mass of brightly shiny to slightly tarnished bismuthinite. Crystal lengths are typically 0.5cm, with some good clear terminations.An excellent example of a Cornish bismuthinte - ex Barstow (1980), ex K.Borland Collection.
