Locality: Dara-i-Pech (Darra-i-Pech; Darra-e-Pech; Pech; Peech; Page) pegmatite field, Chapa Dara District, Konar Province (Kunar Province; Konarh Province; Konarha Province; Nuristan), Afghanistan

Large crystals of translucent red-orange spessartine garnet to 32 mm diameter. These are half crystals, the bottom half had altered into the surrounding country rock, now missing. An excellent specimen. Overall size of mineral specimen: 3.5x3x2 cm. Size of individual crystals: 2-3.5 cm.
