This is a very nice and old piece! Its from the Silberberg Mine , Bodenmais, Bavarian Forest, Bavaria, Germany. This Mine is closed for over 40 years now . Beautifully iridescent dodecahedron crystals of magnetite on massive magnetite from the old classic location of Bodermais, Bavaria, Germany. Minor muscovite covers part of the magnetite. The magnetite crystals come in various sizes up to about 1.8 cm across. This specimen came out of the ground many years ago and like many other minerals in the Hauck collection, is rarely seen on the market today. Great old Schortmann’s Minerals label (WWII era) as well as a couple of other previous labels accompany the piece. A MAJOR locality piece for what it is! 5.0 x 4.9 x 2.6 cm
