Keiviite-(Y) : (Y,Yb)₂[Si₂O₇], Fluorite (Var: Yttrofluorite) : (Ca,Y)F_2+x, Microcline (Var: Amazonite) : K[AlSi₃O₈]

Locality: Ploskaya Mt, Western Keivy Massif, Kola Peninsula, Murmanskaja Oblast', Northern Region, Russia

Typical appearance of keiviite-(Y) at the locality. It grows in thin veinlets of later light-violet to colourless yttrofluorite-III (with only ~1-2 % of Y) in amazonite blocks. Keiviite-(Y) forms tabular creamy-white crystals up to 1-2 mm in such veinlets. FOV is 1.5x1.2 cm. Selfcollected in September 1990. Pavel M. Kartashov collection and photo.
