Ilsemannite

Locality: Tulukuevskoe U deposit (Tulukui quarry), Strel'tsovskoe Mo-U ore field, Krasnokamensk, Chitinskaya Oblast', Transbaikalia (Zabaykalye), Eastern-Siberian Region, Russia

Dark blue slightly wet (penetrated with sulphuric acid solution) new formed rich ilsemannite masses on calcite matrix. Specimen size 8x4x2.5 cm. Ilsemannite in this locality slowly transform to powellite (very interesting variety with UO2 content up to 15%). Collected in 2002 on middle levels of Tulukui quarry. Pavel M.
