Locality: Kragerø, Telemark, Norway

The faces of the prism are very well defined and with fine vertical striations, while terminations are less clear because they coincide with contacts. We call attention to the locality, one of the most classic from Norway.

[Originally uploaded as ferrohornblende-magnesiohornblende series, and corrected in lack of analysis to amphibole group. Specimen probably from Studsdalen, a classical locality for amphibole crystals ("hornblende")]
