Locality: White Rock District (White Rocks District), Middletown, Middlesex Co., Connecticut, USA

The quality in this piece is phenomnenal! It features a sharp 1 cm mirror-bright lustrous columbite crystal perched on a miniature-sized pegmatite matrix of smoky quartz and muscovite. This is a historic specimen from the John I. Legro collection (catalog #1095), illustrated in a Socvil photo in Pough’s Field Guide to Rocks & Minerals, 5th edition (Plate 26; 1996) and Rocks & Minerals “Connecticut” issue (p. 402, Figure 16; 70:6,1995). 4.6 x 4.2 x 3.1 cm
