Thermoluminescent fluorite (chlorophane) emitting blue-green light when heated to 220°C in a porcelain dish atop a laboratory hot plate. The magenta color is the result of a second red emission line at the higher temperature (330°C) at the center of the dish where it contacts the hotplate. This dark purple fluorite is completely decolorized after it ceases luminescing.
