4 cm pistachio-green wedge of an unusual radioactive anatase after titanite pseudomorph from the Badu Hill Pegmatite in Llano County, Texas. The dark inclusions above my thumb are perfect 1-2 mm radioactive reddish-brown crystals of zircon, var. cyrtolite. Even though XRD analysis identifies the mineral as anatase, SEM-EDS indicates substantial amounts of niobium, tantalum, uranium, thorium, iron and silicon within the crystal lattice.
