Locality: Yellow Cat Mine, New Idria, New Idria District, Diablo Range, San Benito Co., California, USA

Nice plate of lustrous olive-brown demantoid garnet crystals to 2 mm on matrix covered with green diopside micro-crystals. Looks beautiful under magnification. Nice showy specimen from the new find (1999) in this historic mining district. Overall size of mineral specimen: 5x3.5x3 cm. Size of individual crystals: 1-2 mm.
