Opal (Var: Precious Opal) : SiO2·nH2O

Part of a fossilized bone, with a hollow in the center where the marrow was, now completely replaced by transparent opal. The fire (play of colors) is bright and the opal is very transparent allowing visibility deep inside. Total weight = 21.57 carats. Overall size of mineral specimen: 25x14x12 mm. Size of individual crystals: 1-2 mm.
