Dines notes that this sett was formed in 1864 by amalgamation of Treviskey and Tresavean Barrier mines. The identity of the latter is now lost. Elswewhere, Schwartz notes that an unsuccessful attempt to reopen some of the old workings [Tresavean] by a company named East Tresavean was made in 1876.
