Regional Report: Kowary (Schmiedeberg im Riesengebirge), Kowary area, Jelenia Góra District, Lower Silesia (Dolnośląskie), Poland

Mining at Kowary started in 1148 on iron ore and continued until the 17th century. From 1948 bis 1972 uranium was mined (U deposit with polymetallic mineralization). Ore series include marbles.
