A stamps engine house stands above one of the finest surviving nineteenth century tin dressing floors in the world.
The West Basset Mine Stamps (SW 6815 3970) constructed by the Tuckingmill Foundry, date to 1875. The remains of the dressing floors show three different phases - settling and buddling (1875), additional buddle floor (1892), and the installation of Frue vanners (1906).
The site is listed by English Heritage as "Grade II" [buildings of nationally important and of special interest].
