About SunstoneHide

A variety of Feldspar Group

A variety of feldspar (microcline or oligoclase, more rarely labradorite) that has schiller, commonly with an orange/brown background color, due to exsolved oriented small hematite (or hematite and ilmenite) crystals that give it an flash and sparkle. Also called Aventurine feldspar.

The Oregon Sunstone, a labradorite contains copper crystals instead of hematite.
