Described as a finely fibrous greenish-white or sky-blue calcareous sinter containing nickel from Zeiring (Oberzeiring), Styria, Austria. Has been supposed to be a nickeloan aragonite, a nickeloan strontianite or a strontian aragonite, but was later shown to be aragonite coloured by oriented inclusions of Aurichalcite (H. Meixner (1962) Fortschr. Min: 40.60).
Aragonite sinters with microscopic inclusions of aurichalcite, giving them a characteristically light blue colour. Sometimes used for carving.
