A variety of Cassiterite

A variety of Cassiterite showing a radiating structure resembling dried wood. Related to cassiterite the same way agate is related to quartz. Most commonly as a low-temperature hydrothermal deposit in acid volcanic rocks. Alluvial "stream tin", without the agate-like concentric rings, is sometimes mislabelled as "wood tin".
