About MelnikoviteHide

Amorphous
A Mixture Of:
Fine-grained to amorphous iron sulphides, often botryoidal, colloform and banded. It may form as an iron sulfide gel but usually recrystallises to pyrite and/or marcasite, sometimes alternating between the two species. It may include some sulphites, thiosulphates, dithionates containing Fe, Pb, As and Tl (e.g., Kucha et al., 1989; Kucha & Viaene, 1993).
