Named for Dr. Asahiko Sugaki (苣木浅彦) (23 February 1923, Saga Prefecture, Japan - 22 April 2010), professor of Tohoku University, specialist in ore deposits, especially experimental studies on sulphide phase equilibria.

Anhedral grains, 0.05–0.1 mm across, filling interstices of olivine, clinopyroxene and orthopyroxene aggregates, along with other sulfides and native copper.
