Named for Dr. Asahiko Sugaki (苣木浅彦) (23 February 1923, Saga Prefecture, Japan - 22 April 2010), professor of Tohoku University, specialist in ore deposits, especially experimental studies on sulphide phase equilibria.
Cu analogue of Argentopentlandite. Compositionally similar to samaniite.
