What is this search?

This search uses SIMPLIcity content-based image searching, developed by Jia Li and James Z. Wang at PSU, this uses state-of-the-art computer-based image recongition technology to help find photos that appear similar to the one you selected. This is an ongoing research project, and mindat.org is happy to help where we can with the testing of this system to help with the future development and enhancement of this system. Results are sometimes confused by background image colours, and some images will give better search results than others.
