''Gravel'' spoil heap

A good days digging, all the visible ground has been systematically dug to the bedrock, the distinct hole in the centre of the photograph is (unknown at the time) actually a pothole in the limestone bedrock!

"A" vein, Lecanvey prospect.

This is the principle vein in the Lecanvey gold prospect on Croagh Patrick. Both these outcrops contain specks of visible gold. Taken Spring 2007.

One of the lesser veins in the Lecanvey gold prospect. Although considered sub-economic a small hot spot on this vein yielded some rich specimens of gold in quartz. Taken Spring 2007. Note summit of Croagh Patrick in the background.
