Exploited mine in immediate vicinity of the Nujiang river.

Gaoligong Mts (Gaoligong Shan), Nujiang Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, China

Typical mine of the Gaoligongshan area. Various metals, marble and gemstones are extracted in small mines along the Nujiang river. Most of the area is a nature reserve where mining restrictions apply. Further limiting factors to mining are the extremely steep terrain, remoteness and apparently quite small deposits.
