Big Room looking out
	Victory Mine, Cave-in-Rock, Cave-in-Rock Sub-District, Illinois - Kentucky Fluorspar District, Hardin Co., Illinois, USA This 1988 photograph is looking back to the entrance, from the "big room" (see other photo under Victory mine). Cave in Rock cave
	Cave-in-Rock, Cave-in-Rock Sub-District, Illinois - Kentucky Fluorspar District, Hardin Co., Illinois, USA This is where the town of Cave in Rock got its name. This short, but impressive cave opens to the banks of the Ohio River. It is in Cave in Rock State Park. The sycamore tree at the entrance has since died and is gone. Cleveland Mine 1986
	Cleveland Mine (32-Cut Mine; Keeling Mine), Austin Group, Spar Mountain, Cave-in-Rock Sub-District, Illinois - Kentucky Fluorspar District, Hardin Co., Illinois, USA The Cleveland mine was exposed by strip mining, best seen on the left side. The limestone and sandstone surface mining eventually buried this area in waste rock. Collecting Smithsonite
	Hastie's Quarry, Spar Mountain, Cave-in-Rock Sub-District, Illinois - Kentucky Fluorspar District, Hardin Co., Illinois, USA The "V" shaped structure in this mine pillar is a pocket containing rare smithsonite on fluorite and barite. This photo was taken in May, 2001. The pillar was exposed by surface mining at Hastie's Quarry, although it was originally made in the 1950's by the Ozark-Mahoning Company's underground room and pillar mining.
