The left side is XVIth (see vertical marks on the wall and the start of the ogival form) but the rigth side is reworked with explosives powders. This galery is a pumping out galery too. |

Gabe Gottes Mine (incl. Giftgrube), Ste Marie-aux-Mines (Markirch), Haut-Rhin, Alsace, France This is a very nice front for this period, located near the 40 meters shaft in Gabe Gottes mine. This galery is 1.40m hight and we can see the maks on the wall and the front. In the XVIe century the miners increased by ten meters per year on average but here they were into a gneiss rock. |
