Center of Quarry

Corydon Stone Co. Quarry (Corydon Crushed Stone and Lime Quarry), Corydon, Harrison Co., Indiana, USA

The Corydon Stone Co. quarry mines limestone from the upper St. Louis, entire Ste. Genevieve and entire Paoli Limestones of Middle and Upper Mississippian age. The lower part of the quarry contains pockets of crystals - primarily dolomite and calcite. Access to this quarry is limited. Photo by Alan Goldstein, October 30, 2003.
