This mine is accessible seasonally by a dirt road off the U.S. 550 - "Million Dollar Highway" - near Red Mountain Pass. In August 1987, the dumps contain abundant crystalline enargite and pyrite (octahedral). Inconspicuous sphalerite fluoresces bright red in UV. Photograph by Alan Goldstein.
