I'm standing on a Amphibole/Garnet rich outcrop looking towards the area where the abandoned town of Doodletown is located. Thomas Edison had an iron mine there. May of 2011.

Largest Crystal Size: 36 mm

Jumbled cluster of prismatic hedenbergite crystals. Ex Bob Trimmingham (T-19147). His notes on the label say that he purchased the specimen from Excalibur Minerals in 2010 for $125, and trimmed off about 40% of the specimen that had damaged crystals. "Obtained during utility excavations some years ago. Only a few of these produced." K. Nash specimen and photo.
