Collectors dump

Mt Bischoff mine, Waratah, Waratah district, Tasmania, Australia

The collectors specimen dump as provided by the mining company for fossickers. Rocks are now becoming very oxidised from the breakdown of Arsenopyrite and other sulphides. Luke Tuma, very wet and very cold breaking rocks. Nice pyrite and fluorite still can be found.

Mt Bischoff - Dyke

Mt Bischoff mine, Waratah, Waratah district, Tasmania, Australia

Modern works have opened up the porphyry dyke that is the basis of the exceptional mineralisation of Mt Bischoff. There is another to the right and the intervening rock is highly mineralised with really high tin counts.
