Collecting in the main fluorite area just befor the sweetite/ashoverite find in 1981. Sweetite was discribed in 1984, and ashoverite in 1988.

Rock face

A general view of the rock face in the uppermost part of the quarry close to jetting street. some odd good specimens can be found amongst the slurry piles in the foreground, but 98% of it is exactly slurry and rubble which, judging by the few specimens i recently found, evidently came from the neighbouring fall hill site. May 1992. It's possible that the body is Martin Stolworthy's, but it's difficult to tell without being able o see his distinctive belly properly.
Subsequent to the photo having been posted, I find that it is, in fact, Kevin Johns.

A lovely, but strange location. Taken march 2009.
There is clear and white fluorite to be found here, but in truth, most of it is quite scrappy as the best specimens have already gone. Recent reports suggest that the local inhabitants are getting increasingly fed up of the growing numbers of specimen hunters.
