Björkdal mine, Sandfors, Västerbotten, Sweden According to the Swedish Geological Survey there are five limestone quarries (red triangles- all closed) around Sandfors (map center) in Kågedalen. The Björkdal mine (blue circle) is geographically identical to the site of the Hebberfors quarry. The limestone itself is in fact in part overlying the quartz veins. Area is appr 20km wide. |
