Kelly Mine, Randsburg, Rand District, Kern Co., California, USA

Dimensions: 3.44 cm x 3.05 cm x 3.02 cm

This specimen hosts a group of complex crystals of Miargyrite in addition to a rich vein of massive Miargyrite. The largest crystal measures 3.75mm. While Proustite and Pyrargyrite are what one thinks of when one thinks of the 'ruby silver' species, however there is a third, and much rarer species - Miargyrite. Upon close inspection one can see the red highlights within the Miargyrite as well as some tiny areas of native Silver. Specimen size is 3.44cm x 3.05cm x 3.02cm.
