A difficult access, at times...

Unfortunately, the space between the foot of the road cut and the road berm tends to get flooded. This is particularly true at springtime, due to the melting of the snow.

Understandably, good rubber boots will be required.

However, at mid-summer, if the weather has been dry for a few weeks, only a few humid spots will remain, and ...

Cavities in a block

Further to a large blast, dozens of small blocks such as this one were scattered all around the surface of the blast pile. The crowbar in this picture is only 40 cm (16 inch) long, so the rock specimen is around that size.

One of the rock piles on the site.
